Oh the joys of this website! I've been contacted by fellow Yahoo Liner Collectibles member Philippe Beaudry of Quebec, who graciously agreed to allow me to publish photos of his amazing collection. Philippe has amassed an astonishing array of souvenir spoons (approximately 150, mostly Canadian Pacific), sold onboard items, china, glassware, silver, furniture, and even the bell from the ill-fated Empress of Ireland which weighs 480 pounds and was rung in a ceremony in April of 2005. This impressive display also includes various navigational equipment and other artifacts (in excess of 500 total) from the same ship -- most of which Philippe recovered himself. Now, I'm the first to admit to being a hardcore ship geek, but I prefer the comfort of eBay and catalogs to actually diving on a wreck! Philippe also has nine tables set with over 325 pieces of china and silver on display in his basement. With original documents, postcards, photos, negatives, and all the hard items as well, Philippe estimates his entire collection to be in excess of 6,000 total items. With this impressive array at his disposal, Philippe has been contracted to write a book about Quebec Cruises from 1820 to 2000. Thanks, Philippe, for sharing your most impressive collection!
